About Face Shape Check

About This Face Shape Test

Face Shape Check is a free browser-based tool that helps you understand your face shape and find practical ideas for hairstyles and glasses. It is designed to give you a clear starting point without a sign-up, a paid report, or sending your photo away from your device.

What this site does

Choosing a haircut or a pair of frames is easier when you understand your proportions. The challenge is that most people cannot easily name their own face shape. This site turns that first question into a simple, approachable experience: choose a clear photo, let the browser analyze it, and explore styling suggestions that match the result.

The goal is not to tell you what you must wear. Face shape is one useful styling reference alongside hair texture, personal taste, lifestyle, and the look you want. Our guides are here to help you compare options, notice what balances your features, and make decisions with a little more confidence.

Why we built it

Face shape is often the starting point for advice about hair and eyewear, yet the terminology can feel confusing. A person may hear “oval” or “heart” in a salon or optical shop without knowing what those words describe. We wanted to make that first step understandable and free for anyone with a phone or computer.

Face Shape Check keeps the experience focused: one local analysis, a readable result, and links to useful styling ideas. There is no account to create and no complicated questionnaire before you can get started.

How the face shape test works

After you select a photo, the page uses MediaPipe to identify facial landmarks in your own browser. These landmarks describe points around the eyes, cheeks, jaw, forehead area, and chin. The tool compares the resulting proportions with seven common face-shape patterns and presents the closest estimate.

The seven categories are oval, round, square, heart, diamond, oblong, and triangle. Real faces do not always fit one perfect diagram, so the result should be treated as a helpful styling direction rather than a permanent label. Lighting, camera angle, expression, hair, and lens distortion can all affect an image-based estimate.

Private, free, and simple

Your photo is processed locally in the browser. It is not uploaded to our server, stored in an image library, or sent to an external AI service for analysis. You do not need to register, provide an email address, or pay to use the face shape test.

We believe a small tool should be easy to try and easy to leave. You can use the result as a reference, read the related guides, and return whenever you want without creating an account. For more detail about data handling, read our Privacy Policy.

What the result means

The result is intended for personal styling reference only. It is not a medical diagnosis, a scientific assessment of identity, or a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. If two shapes appear close, that is normal. Many people sit between categories, and advice for neighboring shapes often overlaps.

Use the result as an invitation to experiment. Try a cut, frame, or styling detail that appeals to you, then decide based on how you feel wearing it.
